Background Information

Voula Samaras (Mary Mary and the Canary)

I am a former primary school teacher with a background in classical piano, singing and drama. After retiring from full time teaching I decided to study piano theory and songwriting. After a two year period of writing songs, I began writing children’s songs which led to the creation of my own children’s show Mary Mary and the Canary in 2002.  The show is unique and features a number of the 16 original tunes played from the Mary Mary and the Canary CD.

I am a regular performer at Kindergartens, Primary Schools and at School Holiday Events.
